I started to get serious about health issues for dogs once mine started having them at the age of six. Instead of wasting time watching TV, lately, I have been studying ways to ensure my dogs have the longest lives possible.

For the ones that are familiar with my work and opinions, you will already know that I feel that commercial dog food is one of the main cause of health problems. For this reason I have become practically evangelical about the benefits of homemade dog food; I truly believe that it is the best dog food out there.

In actuality, the majority of people will need to provide supplemental commercial food in addition to the homemade diet. This is the reason I take a lot of time with the best dog food topic.

There is much debate about the addition of meat by-products as well as some other controversial ingredients. This can be identified as chicken, poultry, beef or just about any kind of meat with the phrase by-product behind it.

What exactly is it and will your dog benefit from it? If you investigate on the topic you will discover two groups, one group supports by products as positive, but the other group say it is dangerous for your pet.

The truth is, it depends let's take a look at the definition of Poultry by-products.

"Poultry derivatives contain mashed up, renderings, clean portions of murdered poultry cadavers, such as necks, beak, feet, unhatched eggs and intestines, leaving out feathers, "except in various amounts that might happen by accident in normal processing"The trouble is you are not aware of the ingredients all the time. There isn't any standard that states there are a certain amount of feet or a measurement of intestines or any form of nutrition at all. In reality, none of this is actually suitable for a person to eat.

Some will debate that a wild dog will consume anything that is found on the by product ingredient list and this is why it is alright to give this to your dog. Although there is some truth to it, it is like saying that humans could eat from dumpsters and garbage cans if necessary.

Because I want the best possible nutrition for my dog, I'll avoid those foods that contain by-products and stick with the best dog food with natural ingredients.

Just because a brand of dog food is well-known does that make it the best dog food  to feed your pet? After studying the matter I've come to the conclusion that people are aware of a  brand not because it's particularly healthy but because it's a brand that can afford some heavy advertising.

Your vet, unfortunately, does not have the best dog food available for your canine.   I’ll bet that 90% of Vets that sell dog food are selling Science Diet, yet it does not meet the requirements to make my top ten best dog food list.

Because my dog started to have Seizures, I started to research to find out how to pick the best dog food available to keep him healthy. I was forced to become an expert on reading dog food labels, to try and figure out what those listed ingredients really are. I sometimes think I know more about what is in my dog’s food than I do my own.

As I carried out more studies of dog food, the unethical scenario of commercial dog food became clearer to me, which was main problem.

Research on what the pet food companies really offered is the first step in finding the best dog food.

I have documented my findings in many articles about the pet food industry, which is virtually self-regulated, and about how the industry uses deceptive labeling language to deceive pet owners about true contents of pet food.

There is no law to assist us for selecting most suitable dog food apart from the law that makes it compulsory to mention the contents on label in descending order of weight of ingredients. So if the first ingredient is a corn product, it doesn’t matter if the name on the bag says Chicken dinner delight, the main ingredient by weight is the corn product.

The best thing to do is skip over the name on the bag and go straight to the ingredient list. The first few ingredients sound like something you should probably know what is, but in reality they are probably something completely different.  Even so from that point on things become even more difficult.

Don’t be fooled by ingredients like dried egg products, they sound healthy but that are not.  You would not eat what goes into dried egg product, so why should your dog? As well as with Chicken by-products, they are completely different from the chicken that you would eat.

Sure, you might kind of have an inkling as to what these ingredients are, but what about all the rest of it?

The main reason for me being pleased that at initial stage of my study; I could get a rigid guide telling what one must check on labels of packed dog foods and I have been following the same to choose best food for my pet dog.

Out of 150 brands of dog food, just 10 were of good quality that I would consider feeding to my dog.   I’ll guarantee you that after you compare the ingredient list of my 10 best dog food list to the brands sold by your Vet, you will stop asking your Vet for healthy feeding advice.

In the past I've wrote many articles and blog posts on healthy dog food, but today I would like to talk more about everything else it takes to raise a dog.

Pet parents around the world all always wishing they knew how to get answers to simple questions like how to take a trip with their dog, or even simpler yet how to get them to sit on command. Did you ever wish you knew how to make your own flea and tick repellant from all natural ingredients?.

Ever since my Beagle Copper started to have seizures I have been spending every available minute doing research. I admit I have focused mainly on dog food, but I have also found expert answers to questions like the ones above.

Finding information on the Internet is not a problem, but trusting the answers should be a major concern. You need to know you are dealing with experts not some BS artist out to take your money. We want to know that what we do is best for our pets

Wouldn't it be great if we could call and interview experts in the filed for any questions we might have? You could call your vet every time you have a question, but do you really think they would continue to take your calls?

Not to mention that your local vet is not an expert in every aspect of raising your pet, they don't have a clue when it comes to training questions for example.

Selecting the best breed for your family is one of the most important things a good dog parent should research before they bring any dog into their home.

Most pet owners never find the answers to all their pet questions and they end up flying by the seat of their pants. This can be bad for them and their dogs.

Sadly many reason people turn their dogs over to pet shelters is because they either picked the wrong breed for their family, or some other problem they didn't know how to find answers to correct..

{Today I'm happy to say that I have found expert answers to all of these questions and more. I would be happy to share them with you and help you become a better parent to your dog.|There is no longer an excuse for not being able to finding solutions to any dog parenting question. Smart pet parents know that the food the feed their dogs have more to do with their overall health. That is why they are searching for the best dog food brands.Finding the best dog food brand should be as simple as reading the ingredients on the label.

It would be simple if that was true, but unless you can decipher the code used by the pet food industry, I'm afraid you're going to fail.

When you search for healthy foods for humans the task seems fairly easy, however when checking for the best dog food brands the task becomes very daunting and the facts are certainly unclear and confusing.

Unfortunately, pet food manufactories have the ability to use ingredients that are not suitable for human consumption. In fact, they can even use left over by-products and call them healthy sounding names to fool you into thinking they are good for you pet!

You would think if you seen dried egg product listed as an ingredients in your dog food that that would be a healthy thing. What it really means is egg shells of all kinds and other tissues that cannot be consumed by human beings, may be found in it.

While doing my research to find the best dog food brands, I ran across a list of 68 ingredients that are used by some of the best brands, that should give you cause to stop feeding these brand to your dog. Nearly halve of these 68 ingredients are unhealthy and will leave to a shortening of your dogs life if consumed on a regular basis.

We also read and reviewed a dog food report written based on the results of testing agent at a firm searching for the best US dog foods. The report is copyright protected, so I can't re-print it in this article.

What I can tell you is after looking at every brand of dog food in North America they only found 9 that made the list of the best dog food brands, based on being healthy selections.

27 brands didn't make the list after consideration, and there are some big names that didn't make it. Product brands such as Iams, Science Diet and Eukanuba were not included on the list.

On account of the stated reasons, six brands were eliminated from this second report.
The report gives details about the pros and cons of every brand.

Based on the information I gathered during my study on commercial dog food, I have put both of our dogs on home made diet. But, at times, you may need some ready made food for them. Personally, I won't endanger the health of my pets on the ground that I am idle and will neither prepare food for them nor buy them one of the best, healthy dog food brands available.

I have spent many hours doing research on dog food, and I finally found a report that explains in detail sixty-eight ingredients found in dog food to avoid, and why.

This report is copyright protected so I can’t post a copy here, but I will post some highlights to show you how important it is for you to get this free information. Your dog’s life depends on it.

There are 68 ingredients found in many major brands of dog food listed in this report. Below are just a few.

 Animal Fat
Beef & Bone Meal
Chicken Byproduct Meal
Cane Molasses
Liver Meal

The report ranks each ingredient with a ranking of either Deadly, Moderation Only, or Harmless but Useless There are close to 30 ingredients in the report that has a ranking of deadly, and the odds are some are listed in the dog food you are feeding your dog tonight.

You are probably asking yourself why the dog food companies would use ingredients that could harm my dog. The cold hard truth is profits.

You see the odds are unless they really screw up like they did in 2007, your dog probably won’t die today from eating any commercially made dog food yesterday. They get away with this, because all that happens is your dog dies way to young.

The dog food industry thinks we should be happy if our dog sees 12, but they should be living to see 20.

The report explains in detail what the ingredients listed in your dog food really mean. Sadly they are not what you think they are,

There is no sugar coating this, Commercial dog foods are killing our dogs and to save them we must change to a homemade dog food diet now. The toxic waste and useless fillers that provide little nutrients for our dogs are the reason we should stay away from commercial products.

The labeling laws for the pet food industry are a joke, and they are able to hide ingredients like listed below.

Indigestible waste products

Colors & dyes

Pesticides

Chemicals

Harmful preservatives

Antibiotics

Dead, diseased, disabled or dying animals prior to their visit to the slaughter house.

Animal by-products including some recently euthanized pet cats or dogs.

Slaughter houses and rendering companies toxic leftovers, not fit for human consumption are sold to pet food companies. This toxic waste is rendered at temperatures well over 300 degree, and any nutritional values that might have been in this crap is lost in the process.

Scared to death about the toxins found in dog food, I started to research on how to make homemade dog food.

Research shows that a homemade dog food diet could be dangerous if the owners does not follow a plan to ensure the diet is well balanced . This should consist of 40 percent meat, 30 percent vegetables and 30 percent starch.

I’m not going to lie to you, without some help, making certain that your homemade dog food diet is complete and nutritionally balanced is very difficult. The many long hours I spent on research led me to find some experts on homemade dog food diets, and they gave me to confidence I needed to make the switch.

I worried about the fact that if I didn’t find a complete diet that is could have long term serious health risks for my dogs.

The experts say that any homemade dog food should have both a good source of protein and carbohydrates.

Here are some examples of good sources of protein and carbohydrates for homemade dog food diets.:

roasted skinless chicken breast

pan browned ground beef

broiled pork loin

broiled lamb chop

baked Atlantic salmon

hard boiled whole egg

cottage cheese

tofu

long-grained white rice

long-grained brown rice

baked white potatoes

baked sweet potatoes

enriched, cooked spaghetti

cooked oats

cooked barley

What’s amazing to me is these foods are the same healthy foods we should be buying for our family now. I don’t see anything on that list that would have to be marked not fit for human consumption, like the animal by products used in pet food by some companies.

Now again I need to warn you that taking these ingredients and coming up with a homemade dog food diet plan that is well balanced did take some research. We needed to make certain that our recipes provide the nutrition our dogs need for a lifetime of good health.

The work involved to get this right, is nothing compared to the many more years of unconditional love you’ll receive from you pet.

Take advantage of all my research and make certain you never need to worry about a dog food recall again by clicking this link.

Most pet owners are back feeding their dogs and cat’s food made by the same companies that had major recalls. After 2007 dog food recall the industry seen the light and now has nothing but the pet’s best interest at heart right?

I hope you can see the sarcasm in that last sentence. There are no new regulations out of Washington and no more manpower to help regulate the Industry.

"Stop worring about Dog Food Recalls Click Here"

Pet owners around the world are holding their breaths waiting for the next recall to hit. The dog food recall alerts have not stopped, there has been many since 2007, just not one as big. Even though these smaller recalls are not getting the media hype, they are still killing our pets.

Bad things already started happening before any dog food recall alert goes out. Pets are sick and or dying already. Without better inspections we will always be behind the curve when in comes to a dog food recall. Time to treatment will be essential because your dog will probably already be sick before you ever hear about the recall.

There are no words for the feeling you get when you go from playing fetch with your yellow lab, to six weeks later burying her in the back yard. At first you think she is just sick, but the look in the vet’s eyes tells you different and you know you going to loose your best friend soon.

You pray that she’ll get better, but when her breathing becomes so labored that you hear her in the next room you know it’s time. On the drive to the vets you know there is only one choice, but can you do what’s right for her when it’s going to hurt you so bad?

This is the hardest decision you ever had to make but when she licks your hand and looks at you with the pleading eyes you know it’s time You want to be a close to her as you can get and your kissing her and telling her how much you lover her and then she looks at you and slowly closes her eyes. You know it’s over when you hear that one last breath.

During the drive home the pain in the pit of your stomach reminds you of when you lost your grandfather and it hits you this is forever. The only friend that truly gave you back unconditional love no matter what you did.

Now you start to think about the dog food recall and wonder what it would have been like if you had not been feeding that food. Then you remember you have two more dogs that eat something different. Is it on a dog food recall list and if not will it be someday?

I am convinced that any manufactured dog food could end up on a recall list at any given time. There is only one choice and that is learning how to make my own feed.

There is no way I’m going to lose another pet to the greedy profit grubbing pet food industry. I’ve done the research and I now know what I need to do to feed my dogs

No one should have to go through this and my research shows there is a better way, so click here to stop worrying about dog food recall lists.
