In the past I've wrote many articles and blog posts on healthy dog food, but today I would like to talk more about everything else it takes to raise a dog.

Pet parents around the world all always wishing they knew how to get answers to simple questions like how to take a trip with their dog, or even simpler yet how to get them to sit on command. Did you ever wish you knew how to make your own flea and tick repellant from all natural ingredients?.

Ever since my Beagle Copper started to have seizures I have been spending every available minute doing research. I admit I have focused mainly on dog food, but I have also found expert answers to questions like the ones above.

Finding information on the Internet is not a problem, but trusting the answers should be a major concern. You need to know you are dealing with experts not some BS artist out to take your money. We want to know that what we do is best for our pets

Wouldn't it be great if we could call and interview experts in the filed for any questions we might have? You could call your vet every time you have a question, but do you really think they would continue to take your calls?

Not to mention that your local vet is not an expert in every aspect of raising your pet, they don't have a clue when it comes to training questions for example.

Selecting the best breed for your family is one of the most important things a good dog parent should research before they bring any dog into their home.

Most pet owners never find the answers to all their pet questions and they end up flying by the seat of their pants. This can be bad for them and their dogs.

Sadly many reason people turn their dogs over to pet shelters is because they either picked the wrong breed for their family, or some other problem they didn't know how to find answers to correct..

Smart pet parents know that the food the feed their dogs have more to do with their overall health. That is why they are searching for the best dog food brands.Finding the best dog food brand should be as simple as reading the ingredients on the label.

It would be simple if that was true, but unless you can decipher the code used by the pet food industry, I'm afraid you're going to fail.

When you search for healthy foods for humans the task seems fairly easy, however when checking for the best dog food brands the task becomes very daunting and the facts are certainly unclear and confusing.

Unfortunately, pet food manufactories have the ability to use ingredients that are not suitable for human consumption. In fact, they can even use left over by-products and call them healthy sounding names to fool you into thinking they are good for you pet!

You would think if you seen dried egg product listed as an ingredients in your dog food that that would be a healthy thing. What it really means is egg shells of all kinds and other tissues that cannot be consumed by human beings, may be found in it.

While doing my research to find the best dog food brands, I ran across a list of 68 ingredients that are used by some of the best brands, that should give you cause to stop feeding these brand to your dog. Nearly halve of these 68 ingredients are unhealthy and will leave to a shortening of your dogs life if consumed on a regular basis.

We also read and reviewed a dog food report written based on the results of testing agent at a firm searching for the best US dog foods. The report is copyright protected, so I can't re-print it in this article.

What I can tell you is after looking at every brand of dog food in North America they only found 9 that made the list of the best dog food brands, based on being healthy selections.

27 brands didn't make the list after consideration, and there are some big names that didn't make it. Product brands such as Iams, Science Diet and Eukanuba were not included on the list.

On account of the stated reasons, six brands were eliminated from this second report.
The report gives details about the pros and cons of every brand.

Based on the information I gathered during my study on commercial dog food, I have put both of our dogs on home made diet. But, at times, you may need some ready made food for them. Personally, I won't endanger the health of my pets on the ground that I am idle and will neither prepare food for them nor buy them one of the best, healthy dog food brands available.
